Joann (Miller) Kraemer

Joann was a lifeguard and swam with Aquamaids in her youth. She attended Indiana State for two years and was a member of Gama Phi Beta Sorority. She was a Girl Scout and had her majority in Rainbow Girls. She later worked with Girl Scouts and was a Den mother for her sons. Joann worked at Sears for 10 years.

She volunteered at Mesker Zoo including serving as Mrs. Claus. She also volunteered for the Literacy Center, St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and assisted in formation of the Tri-State Food Bank with her cousin, Barbara "Bobby" Hoy.

Joann was a member of St. Paul’s UCC where she was active in parish nursing and sang in the choir for many years. She attended B.S.F. for eight years.

She loved camping, boating and being with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert H. Kraemer; sons, Matthew R. Kraemer (Janet F.), Kevin M. Kraemer (Kathy L.) and Clayton D. Kraemer (Donna M.); granddaughters, Carrie A. Lazich (Tim), Valerie L. Kraemer, and Maggie J. Dye (Josh); grandsons, Kristopher M. (Lydia) Kraemer, Joseph R. Kraemer and Douglas C. Kraemer; great granddaughters, Madeline G. Lazich, Braelynn L. Wooton, and Harley R. Kraemer.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 2227 W. Michigan Street, officiated by Rev. Lynn O. Marino and Rev. Linda Presley. Friends may visit Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
