John Wesley Bledsoe, Jr., 74, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on May 31, 1949, to the late John Wesley and Mattie Lee (Fleming) Bledso, Sr.
John graduated from North High School and attended Evansville College. He served in the Vietnam War and was a Disabled American Veteran. John was a member of Bread of Life Kingdom Ministries, formerly Progressive Holy Temple Church. He was an avid supporter of the University of Alabama football and an undercover Indianapolis Colts fan.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Felicia Flemming and Dorothy Brown.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha Cooper (Fred) and Cherie Bledso; brother, Ricky Bledso (Shelia); sister, Evelyn Hart; son, Terron Johnson; step-children, Mary Haefner, Sherry Ducote, Melissa Walker, Eddie Market; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at noon Friday, December 15, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Timothy Simmons, Sr. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
