John L. Willard

John L. Willard, 86, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019. He was born September 14, 1932 in Chicago to the late John and Anna Willard.
He graduated from Purdue University in 1958 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. John served in US Marine Corp during the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged as a drill sergeant. He retired from General Foods after 25 years as a Central Engineer Project Manager, and was on the Junior Achievement Board from 1970-71 and the Literacy Center from 1989-92. John attended St. Benedict Cathedral. He enjoyed woodcarving, camping, fishing and traveling after retirement.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deanna (Kaserow) Willard; children, Danette Willard, Andrew Willard (Amy), Thomas Willard (Amy) and Jean Bosecker; grandchildren, Lindsey, Laura and Russell Duke, Taylor, Baylee and A. J. Willard, Ty, McKenna, Erin and Reagan Willard, and Cory and Sydney Bosecker, and brother-in-law, Fr. John Kaserow M.M.
A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Fr. John Kaserow M.M., with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Military rites will be held graveside. Friends may visit 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
