With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Johnnie Kaye Williams, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. Johnnie was born on April 27, 1951, in Shawneetown, Illinois, and she departed this world peacefully at home on August 10, 2025, at the age of 74. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joys of family. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Carol Williams, and eight siblings.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be cherished by her devoted husband, Tim Williams, whom she married on December 26, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with beautiful memories, laughter, and deep companionship. Johnnie is survived by her loving sister, Pam Holland, and her daughters, Jennifer (Keith) Schulz and Jessica (Sean) Hopple . She was a proud Nana to Logan (Jacey) Hopple, Ashleigh (Jeff) Scott, Kyle Hopple, Rhiannon Schulz, Alissa Schulz, Jaret Hopple, Colin Hopple, Alex Schulz, and Emma Hopple. She also delighted in her role as great-grandmother to Addison Hopple, Kasen Hopple, Greyson Hopple, Ramsey Scott, and Hudson Scott. Johnnie’s family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in each of them, nurturing their passions and celebrating their accomplishments.
Johnnie graduated from FJ Reitz High School in 1969 and later pursued her calling in nursing at the Evansville School of Nursing. She dedicated many years to serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in nursing and medical research. Her compassion and commitment to her patients were evident in the care she provided and the countless lives she touched. A faithful member of Westwood Church, Johnnie found great joy in her faith and the community she cultivated there. She was known for her infectious spirit, love of shopping, and the time she spent with family. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the traditions and gatherings that brought her loved ones together during the holiday season. Johnnie had a passion for adventure, and many fond memories were made camping with friends and family, especially during trips to Myrtle Beach. Her laughter and zest for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Friends and family may gather for a visitation on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Westwood Church, 121 S. Boehne Camp Road, Evansville IN. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Dave Teruel.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Westwood Church in honor of Johnnie.
As we say goodbye to Johnnie Williams, we remember her as a loving wife, a devoted mother, a proud Nana, and a great friend. Her legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Johnnie; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
