

Joseph Alan Carter, 51, of Evansville, IN passed away Friday, June 12, 2026. He was born in Madisonville, KY on September 3, 1974 to the late Ricky Alan Carter and Pamela Kay (Akins) Costello.
Joe was a website designer and worked on and built computers. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hiking, boating and collecting guns and antiques. Joe and his wife enjoyed fishing with their "adopted" kids, and he adored their dog, Bear "Teddy Bear".
He loved his nieces and nephews very much and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, LeeLou Marie Carter and father-in-law, Grover Moore.
Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deena Marie (Moore) Carter; brother, Ricky Monroe Carter; aunts, Pat (Tom) Wilgus and Pam Carter; sister-in-law, Krista Shields (Rob); brother-in-law, Chris Moore (Kristen); mother-in-law, Carolyn Moore; nieces and nephews, Ezra Carter, Conner Carter, Blake Cannon, Parker Cannon, Cali Cannon, Addie Moore, Abe Moore, Abbie Joy; great nephew, Koe Cannon; cousins, Brian (Stephani) Wilgus, Cheryl Pitney, Jeremy (Stephanie) Clark, Sara Campbell; second cousins, John Alex Wilgus, Emma Wilgus, Joleigh Clark, Jayci Clark, Allen Collins, Aspyn Clark, Madelyn Pitney, Hannah Pitney, Shelby Campbell, and Reagan Campbell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Carters Chapel General Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY, officiated by Brother Barry Hix and Brother Ruby Rickard. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
