Joe was a retired mechanic who was charismatic, witty, caring and a protector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Beatles, playing the guitar, history, storytelling and most of all spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Brenda Lee Diefenbaugh (2009); and brothers, Tommy Bean and Larry Ray Stevenson.
He is survived by his daughter, Brandy (Adam) Roehr; son, David (Julie) Diefenbaugh; grandchildren, Cooper Roehr, Caylee Jo Roehr and Braden Lee Diefenbaugh; brother, Bill Diefenbaugh; brother-in-law, Dale McBride; nephew and nieces, Chad (Catie) Diefenbaugh, Kelly (Derrick) Norton and Garlanda "Dee" (Scott) Ivy.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Gene Backes. Friends and family may visit from 9:00 a.m until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Alexander Memorial Park.
Grandpa Joey's grandchildren were his everything. He was incredibly proud of Cooper, Caylee Jo and Braden Lee.
