Joseph Fredrick Sperry

Joseph worked in maintenance at Calvary Baptist Church for 8 years and then the Youth Care Center for 2 years. He attended One Life Church in Henderson, KY. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandkids, walking his dog, Izzy and going to comic book conventions with his sons. He liked playing video games with his grandson, Mace and listening to Angel’s stories. He loved Chicago and going to Chipmunks to get an Italian Beef sandwich. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed doing things for others. He was a member of the neighborhood association and participated in all the neighborhood events. He had a big heart and will be missed by all. “All who wander are not lost.”

He was preceded in death by son, David Fredrick Sperry; brother, Charles Sperry; parents, Ray and Betty Tapert.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Doris Basham Sperry; son, Robert Joseph Sperry (Angela); daughter-in-law, Brandy Sperry, step-son, William Schmett (Alice), step-daughter, Linda Curl (Aaron); sisters, Candice Harrison, Katie Mercado (Martin); grandchildren, Angelica, Mace, Kyle, Zachary, Abagail, Caelib, Joshua, Aiden, Kiairah, and Kaycee.

Services will be 11:00AM, Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bret Nicholson. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to One Life Church, Henderson, KY for west side Evansville church planting or to the Sperry Children Memorial Fund @ Sterling United Federal Credit Union, Evansville, IN.
