Joyce A. Calhoun

Joyce A. Calhoun was called to her rest December 14, 2018 at Columbia Health Care. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age. After marriage to Marcellus Calhoun Sr. and moving from Henderson, KY to Evansville, IN, she joined Memorial Baptist Church and was regular in attendance until her health failed. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory; Marcellus Calhoun, her husband of more than 58 years; son, Marcellus Calhoun, Jr.; daughter, Theresa Calhoun. one sister, Carolyn (Nathaniel) Thompson; brothers, John W.., James W. (Gwendolyn) of and Paul (Wila) Hatchett ; , Carolyn Cooper and Thelma Sebree who provided loving comfort. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends. Reverends Harlin and Lorinda Taylor join in the family in our sorrow. Joyce graduated from Lockyear Business College after which she was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital; and, subsequently by Citizens National and Fifth Third Banks as a teller; where she earned respect of many co-workers and customers. Joyce’s homecoming celebration will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
