Joyce Alene Gardner, age 91, passed away peacefully December 2nd at the Linda White Hospice House. “Joy” was born August 15th, 1928 in Evansville, IN to Ruth and John Becker. She graduated from Bosse High School in the 1946 class. After high school, she attended Lockyear’s Business College in Evansville. Joy was a secretary for the Sun Oil Company in Evansville. She later moved to Lowell, Indiana with her late husband, William “Bill” Gardner, where she excelled in a real estate career and also pursued modeling at the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago, IL. Joy and Bill also resided in Sarasota, FL and Hendersonville, NC. After Bill’s passing, she returned to her hometown in Evansville to be closer to her daughter.
Joy was a lover of life! She loved style, fashion, parties, and traveling. Joy was always a joy to be around and lived life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Patricia Frazier, and her son in law, Alan Frazier, who reside in Evansville; her sister, Patricia Cymbala who resides in Newburgh; her brother, John Becker, who resides in Newburgh; her grandchildren Shannon Oliver and great son in law, Tony Oliver, Wes Frazier and great daughter in law, Sarah Frazier, and Shelley Coomes and great son in law, Jeremy Coomes; and her great grandchildren Treye, Olivia, Ella, Wyatt, Waylon, Cooper, Charlie, and Carson.
