June worked diligently as a bookkeeper for ProMark, bringing steady dedication and care to her work and to those who relied on her until her retirement.
She was married for 54 years to James Sandefur, a partnership marked by consistency and devotion.
June was a devoted Christian and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church for many years. She found deep enjoyment in the quiet gifts of the outdoors—gardening, planting flowers, and spending time in nature, where she loved the birds and other animals. She also loved the beach, and her thoughtful spirit showed in the time she devoted to researching genealogy and ancestry. A loyal sports fan, June enjoyed IU sports and the St Louis Cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elden and Mary (Keeling) Martin; husband, James Sandefur; daughter-in-law, Lee Sandefur and brother-in-law, Bruce Hobgood.
She is survived by her son, Jay Sandefur; daughter Julie (Keith) Green; grandchildren, Barbara Sandefur, Jeremy (Jamie) Sandefur, Matthew Green and Angela Duffey; great-grandchildren, Shiloh Sandefur, Devin, Kendra, Adam and Maci Green, Blaine Karczekski, Walter and Susan Duffey; sister, Nancy Hobgood; brother, Michael Martin (Suzi); nieces and nephew, Sarah DeTalente, Jayme Camara, Lisa Pearson and Jeff Hobgood.
