Katherine M. Dooley, 80, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born January 22, 1935, in Evansville, to the late William Compton and Goldie (Hocking) Miller.
She worked her entire career, 60 years total, in shoe sales at the Baby Shop, Baynhams, and Stride Rite. Her grandchildren were her life, she was a caregiver, and she enjoyed working in her yard.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrell Dooley; brothers, Ross and Eugene; and sisters, Wilma “Billie” and Enola “Tudie.”
She is survived by her son, Bryan (Lynette) Dooley; grandchildren, Bryan A. (Courtney Grace) Dooley, Zane (Sandra) Dooley, and Payton Dooley; great-grandchild, Zander Dooley; and brother, Hubert (Sylvia) Compton.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Bryan A. Dooley, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
