

Katherine (Grimm) Frick, 88, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Terrace at Solarbron surrounded by her family. She has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
Kate was born to Cornelius and Fannie Lou (Grimm) on July 28, 1923, the last of three. She graduated from Central High School Class of 1942. She received an A.R.T. degree in Medical Records. She worked at the “old” Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Carmi Hospital, Deaconess Hospital, and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital. She also worked as an Assistant to Dr. Barney Elliott of Morganfield for several years when she lived in Union County, Kentucky.
She was strong in her faith and was a lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ on Market Street, Evansville. She loved to grow beautiful roses for many years and worked at the Voting Polls for lots of years.
She had a very full and active life and always had a dog, as she loved animals of every kind. She belonged to the Church Ladies Auxiliary and the Almoner Society.
Kate is survived by her husband of 70 years, Daniel G. Frick of Evansville; daughter, Nancy Frick Geiger (Mike) of Waverly, KY; son, Daniel C. Frick of Evansville; grandchildren, Nicole Geiger Welden (Jason) of Waverly, KY, Elizabeth Geiger Woosley (Robert) of Evansville, Daniel G. (Beau) Frick II (Heather) of Morganfield, KY, and Ashley Frick Hancock (Jacob) of Morgnfield, KY; great grandchildren, Will Hammer, Marin Woosley, Rhett Cardwell, Hanner Cardwell, Kaiser Frick, Griffin Frick, and Emily Kate Hancock, her namesake; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois, officiated by Rev. John Branam, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive. Friends may visit Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
