

Kathryn Clara (Suhrheinrich) DePriest, 82, of Evansville, passed away January 13, 2013, at her home. She was born February 8, 1930, in Evansville, IN. Kathryn is the second youngest of 7 children born to Adolph and Emma Suhrheinrich.
She graduated from Central High School in 1948. On June 3, 1950 she married her “Sweetie Pie”, Ralph DePriest. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She retired in 1992 from St. Mary’s Medical Center where she was a nurse's aid for 24 years. She was a devoted and caring wife and mother to her husband, five children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son David Wayne DePriest; and her sisters Helen Anderson, Alberta Cozine, Lenora McDaniel, Jeanette Johnson, and Clara Mae Suhrheinrich.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph A. DePriest, Evansville; son, Mark DePriest (Diane) of Dallas, TX; daughter, Pamela Welden (Robert) of Henderson, KY; sons, Michael DePriest (Cecilia) of Poseyville, IN, Scott DePriest (Casey) of Newburgh, IN; and sister, Marian Kost of Evansville; grandchildren, Andrew DePriest, Andrea DePriest, Stacy Hamaker, Jason Welden, Justin Welden, George DePriest, Dominique DePriest, Nicole DePriest, Madelyn DePriest, Jacob DePriest; great-grandchildren, Damian DePriest, Drew DePriest, Krystian Hamaker, and Trinity Hamaker.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Schultz, the staff at Heritage Hospice, and The Historic Rathbone Assisted Living staff for their wonderfully dedicated and compassionate care.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Alexander West, officiated by Rev, Martin Noland, with burial at Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, and 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
