She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie L. Higgs, Sr.; son, Ronnie L. Higgs, Jr.; daughter, Mary Ellen Higgs; parents, Clifford and Margaret Kirk; sisters, Carolyn Kirk and Gloria Patton; and brothers, Clifford Kirk and Roger Kirk.
Kathy is survived by her sons; Bobby Higgs and Roy Higgs, Sr. (Kristina); grandchildren, Roy Higgs, Jr., Jacob Higgs, and Levi Higgs; brother, Brannon Kirk; and sister, Barbara.
She was a wonderful person. Kathy was a wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend. She enjoyed many things in this life, especially spending time with family and friends. Kathy loved baking for her family, particularly for holidays and special events. She also enjoyed decorating, arts and crafts, and both listening to and performing gospel music in church.
Mama is and will always be missed in this life. She is with Jesus now, and there will come a day when we will see Mama again.
We love and miss you Mama, and I'll see you soon.

Kathy's funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026 at Alexander Funeral Home West, 2100 W. Illinois Street in Evansville, officiated by Pastor Cole Hughes. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
