Katie Jones

Kathleen Elizabeth Jones Goffinet, 26, was born to Christa and Ernie Jones on July 10, 1985. She was the apple of her parent’s eyes. Katie grew up in the country and attended Reitz High School and Signature School. Katie was a beautiful and funny young woman who had the gift of gab and the talent of a rising star. Katie was in many school musicals, having the lead in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, her senior year. She was on her high school’s Speech and Debate Team and a member of her school choir, as well. Katie attended The University of Southern Indiana, and was six hours from graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Katie wanted to spend her life helping people. Katie’s mother, Christa, passed away in 2004. Her mother’s passing left a big hole in Katie’s heart. Still, Katie continued college and continued getting excellent grades and academic awards. Katie leaves two children; Angelique Elizabeth Goffinet and Michael Gabriel Freeman. Both of Katie’s children are beautiful and have Katie’s smile. She is survived by her father and mother by marriage, Ernie and Kathy Jones, her brother Andy Raymond Hahn Jones and sister, Karalyn Elaine Jones. Katie is also survived by her grandmother, June Jones, aunts and uncles and cousins. Katie is also survived by many good friends. Katie was loved and will be missed by all friends and family. There was a private funeral service with Pastor Randy Anderson officiating Katie’s celebration of life. Friends visited from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd, Evansville. Katie was entombed next to her mother at St. Joseph Cemetery.
