Kenley David Kauffman

Kenley was a member and Deacon at East Side Christian Church in Evansville.

He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Mt. Vernon and the Mt. Vernon Conservation Club.

Kenley was very active in Special Olympics-Vanderburgh County. He was proud to be named “Athlete of the Year” in 2004. He participated in the Athlete outreach Workshop in 1991. Kenley also went to the International Games in Baton Rouge, LA, in 1979.

He worked at the Mt. Vernon Wesselman’s for 17 years and currently worked at the New Frontiers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Kauffman, Jr.; grandparents, Dr. H.M. and Vevia Kauffman and William and Iva Deer.

Kenley is survived by his mother, Bettye (Deer) Kauffman of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Karlyn Eilert (Bruce) of Wilkesboro, NC, Sharlyn Martin (Mike) of Mt. Vernon, and Jaclyn Kauffman of Evansville; nieces, Karissa Ormand (David) of Purlear, NC, and Dacia Holcomb (Jamie) of Hamptonville, NC; nephew, Jeffrey Martin of Beech Grove, IN and niece, Lesa Amback (Eric) of Greenfield, IN; great nieces, Briana Eilert of Hamptonville, NC, Lillian Amback of Greenfield, IN, and Aubree Amback of Greenfield, IN.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 28, 2014, at East Side Christian Church, 2001 Bayard Park Drive in Evansville, officiated by Dr. David Livingston, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday, from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel and Monday, from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
