Kenny was an Evansville Policeman for 25 years, retiring as Detective in 2011. He was awarded “Police Officer of the Year” in 1998. Kenny loved being outdoors, enjoying hunting, camping, and fishing. He and Julie travelled extensively throughout the United States. He was always “giving back” in the form of coaching little league or cub football, as well as holding secretary/treasurer offices in various organizations over the years. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a proud member of the Blue Knights KY IX Chapter. His crowning achievements in life were his marriage of 37 years and his children and grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Melissa Harbison.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Julie Taylor; daughter, Amy Willcox (James); son, Chris Taylor (Stephanie); grandchildren, Alex “lil buddy” Willcox, Emma “princess” Willcox, and Abby “bunny rabbit” Willcox; sister-in-law, Karen Waddell (Mike); nephews, Nick Waddell and Stephan Waddell; and the Blue Knights KY IX and FOP #73 Families.
A Private Service was held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel.
