Kurt Alan Blackford

As a lifelong lover of cars, he began working at O’Daniel Ranes and became a Nissan Master Technician. He continued working as the shop became D-Patrick, where he retired after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed summer vacations in Daytona Beach with his wife and daughter, as well as NASCAR and Indy Car races. As a child, Kurt loved going to his grandparents’ farm in Carmi, IL.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kent Blackford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Brenda Blackford; daughter, Caitlin Blackford; siblings, Stan Blackford (Rozanna), Vanessa Wolter (David), and Lance Blackford; and aunt, Rebecca Hampton (Darel).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Methodist Temple, officiated by Rev. Andy Payton. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to IU Health Foundation or Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
