

He was an Army Veteran and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in the County. He worked as a Machinist prior to becoming a truck driver, retiring from Walt’s Drive-A-Away after 25 years. Larry was a charter member of Southern Indiana Antique Machinery Club (SIAM). He was passionate about his grandchildren, restoring steam engines and John Deere Tractors, and blowing steam whistles on New Year’s.
Larry was preceded in death by his father; brother, Joe Modlin; and sister, Lou Modlin.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Brantley) Modlin; son, John “Johnny Mod” Modlin (Sara Riggins); grandson, Jonathon Modlin (Kelly Austin); granddaughter, Chelsey Modlin; great-grandchild, Kurrency Modlin, all of Evansville; mother, Eunice Modlin of Yankeetown; brother, Lonnie (Roxye) Modlin of Evansville; brother-in-law, Kenny (Kay) Brantley of Corydon, KY; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were 10:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. C. Marion Brown, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends visited Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
