Laura M. Wheeler, 50, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home. She was born November 17, 1967 in Evansville. She was a graduate of Memorial High School. Laura was a Good Samaritan, loved children and took in many people with nowhere to go and always made sure they ate. She enjoyed animals and online shopping. She loved her kids and grandbabies and was always there for her family. Laura was preceded in death by her first husband, Monty Ray Clement. She is survived by husband of 10 years, Kevin Wheeler; son, Drew Clement; daughters, Brittany Alford (Jeffrey) and Chelsea Clement; grandchildren, Summer, Hadley, Madison, Austin, Emalyn and Raylynn; sisters, Michele “Shelley” Rutkowski and Cheryl Smith (Andrew); father, Arthur D. Rutkowski (Barbara); mother, Lezlie Simmons (Jay Shrode), and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Service will be 10:00AM, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Pastor Mark Silen, with entombment in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 4:00 to 7:00PM, Friday, May 11, 2018 with a memorial service at 7:00PM, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel and 9:00AM to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Laura has been with me throughout my life. I have pictures of Laura holding me as a toddler. She visited us in the South several times. Most recently, she came down at the time of my dad’s death and offered her support. We’ll miss you, cousin Laura. My deepest sympathies go out to her family.

Mama I am going to miss you dearly you was the one that I could run to with anything I could talk to you about anything you love my kids directly you love me dearly like I was your own old man on man I'm going to miss you so so so much my heart hurts that I could never ever see your gorgeous face anymore will hear your voice or hear you telling me what I need to do and what I don't need to do the mom who can I run to now I love you with everything in me and I'm going to miss you.
