Lena Belle Cook Scott

Lena Belle Shrodes Scott, 88, of Evansville, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at Golden LivingCenter - Woodlands. She was born May 26, 1928, in Madisonville, KY, to the late John and Clarise (Kavanaugh) Cook.

She retired from TJ Maxx and was a very sweet and loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and grandmother.

Lena was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John W. Cook, Jr. and Turner Lee Cook; sister, Pauline Shrodes; infant brother and sister, Robert and Caroline Cook; first husband, Floyd R. Shrodes; second husband, James Scott; and daughters, Barbara Ann Shrodes and Sherrie Lynn Phillips.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Bill) Kennedy, Peggy Leek, and Toni Cissna; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Veltri Taylor, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden LivingCenter - Woodlands in Newburgh for the 15 years of wonderful care they provided Lena.
