Lillie Dean Burriss

Lillie Dean Burriss, 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh. She was born October 31, 1925 in Alicetown, IN to the late Emmett and Carrie (Keller) Cunningham.

She was a member of American Baptist East Church and was active in many church groups. Lillie was a Secretary and Bookkeeper at Ellis Feed Store in Linton, Indiana and J.H. Rudolph Asphalt Company in Evansville. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association. She enjoyed playing Bunco and bowling, and she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Lillie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Claude Lee Burriss; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara Walker of Newburgh; son, Gary Burriss (Nancy) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jacob Walker (Maggie), Natalie, Eric and Nicholas Burriss; and two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Leo Walker.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Saturday, 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
