Miss Deer was probably my favorite teacher @ Harrison HS.  I had her for advanced math and also homeroom (wayyyyyy back in the 70s). She always had a kind word for me and time to write recommendations for college applications and high school clubs and organizations.  I LOVED math because of Miss Deer. Miss Deer was a great inspiration to all of her students at Harrison High School.  She was able to make learning math a fun and educational experience.  miss Deer was greatly loved by all of her students.  It is a great loss for the educational comunity.

I was saddened to hear of Miss Deer's passing...Math was never my strong suit but she was one of the few who helped me "get it..!" I went into teaching and guess which course I ended up best loving to teach...? Why, Math of course!!! Robin Reeder-Class of '76

Ms. Deer was a wonderful lady who knew how to draw out abilities in her students that we didn't even know we had.  She not only taught me mathematics, but the essentials of working hard and being dedicated to achievement.  I graduated from HHS in 1999, and she still crosses my mind to this day from time to time.  RIP Ms. Deer, for your journey is now complete.

I am saddened to know that a great teacher has passed. She was one of the teachers who made a difference in my life and ultimately inspired me to become a teacher as well. May she rest in peace.

Linda Deer was my favorite teacher in high school. She had an amazing ability to keep our interest in math and deal with the craziness that teaching a group that age requires. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Miss Deer - gone but NEVER forgotten.

I had Miss Deer in the late 70's for algebra.  "When all else fails, read the directions" was what I remember her saying.  She was a great algebra teacher.  She made us think.

Flat out, Miss Deer kept the most impeccable softball/baseball score book I have ever seen.  That said, it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to know her personally.  Our condolences to Judy, Rusty, and Jenny.

It is so sad that Ms. Deer passed away. She was my pre-calc and calculus teacher in high school and she retired the year I graduated (2008). She was always so happy and loved what she did. I enjoyed her class every day my junior and senior year! She will be missed!

I am deeply saddened that Miss Deer is no longer with us.  I had her as a teacher for two different classes at HHS in the 90s.  She was a great teacher and a wonderful woman.  (And very patient with me!)  She will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My condolences to Mrs Deer's family. I had her for Algebra and Geometry at Harrison in 1976-77. She was a good teacher. She was fair and funny. She was one of my favorite teachers.

So sorry to hear of Linda's passing.  She was one of the leaders at a Math Camp I attended at IU when I was a high school Junior.  She was a great lady!

I too am saddened by the news of Miss Deer's passing. I was her student for several computer classes in '85 and '86 at Harrison. She was always kind, always patient, and always ready to challenge her students to do their best. I will keep her family and friends in my prayers, too.

I am saddened to see of Linda's passing and will keep her family and friends in my prayers.  I did my student teaching with Linda as my supervising teacher back in the fall of '82, and I so much appreciated her guidance and experience!  She also demonstrated daily patience in dealing with the Commodore 64 computers with tape recorders that we used to teach computer programming back in those days!  She was a treasure whom I feel honored to have known.  God Bless!
