She graduated from F. J. Reitz High School in 1961. Following high school, she lived in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Illinois, eventually moving back to southwestern Indiana where she worked as a secretary at the Evansville Courier and Press for 23 years, retiring in 2007. Throughout her life in Evansville, she also worked at Mead Johnson, Peabody Coal, Medco, and General Tire.
She was a member of St. Lucas UCC then St. Paul’s UCC in German Township and was a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and in later years, quilting. She made many of the clothes her children wore when they were young, several of their Halloween costumes, and many of her own clothes. She also started but regrettably never finished a “memory quilt” for one of her granddaughters made of t-shirts and sweatshirts from the various organizations, schools, and activities that her granddaughter participated in.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Marguerite, and her first ex-husband Gerald.
She is survived by her second ex-husband, Earl; their daughters, Noelle and Shanah; two sons-in-law; two granddaughters; various in-laws, and many lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Darla Grossman and her nurse Judy at Deaconess Clinic West Side Family Practice; the doctors, nurses, aides, therapists, and techs at Deaconess Gateway Hospital; and the doctors, nurses, and aides at Heart To Heart Hospice Center for the care and compassion they showed her in her final days.
