Linda Sue Thompson

Linda Sue (Wright) Thompson, 75, of Wadesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, May, 30, 2015. She was born January 1, 1940 in Evansville, IN to the late Thad Wright and Juanita Poag Wright Schmittler.

She will always be remembered for her spunky attitude, her devotion to her family, friends, and her love of Mickey Mouse and cards.

She attended Bosse High School and went on to work at Deaconess Hospital Sterile Supply for many years. In 1961 at the age of 21 she married the love of her life Jerry Thompson. They were happily married for 49 years. They lived and worked in the Evansville/Wadesville area until retiring, at which time, Linda and Jerry moved to Cadiz, KY where they could relax and enjoy life on Barkley Lake. After the death of her husband Jerry Thompson in 2010, she returned to Wadesville to live with her son Bill Thompson and two granddaughters Baylie and Emma.

Linda is also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Galloway; grandchildren, Chance Edward and Kara Jo; sister, Nola Parker; brother, Tom Wright; and stepfather, Melvin Schmittler.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her sons, Donald Thompson (Becky) and William "Bill" Thompson; stepdaughter, Kelly Evans (Tom); grandchildren, Jason, Hollie, Brandi Jo, Seth, Tarrah Jo, Baylie, Emma, Kelly, Tom, Anne, Martina and several great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Ahlbrand and Betty Maddox; brothers, Bill Wright (Evelyn) and Edward Wright (Rhonda); sisters-in-law, Donna Boyles (Jim) and Rita Hunter; brothers-in-law, George Thompson (Linda) and Ronald Thompson (Janet); godchild, Mindy Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Gamblin, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
