Obituary of Lois E. Herman
Lois E. Herman, 87, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Protestant Home in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on November 15, 1932, in Vermillion County, Illinois, to the late Alfa and Hazel (Osborn) Herriott. Lois spent her life working in the food industry, from owning her own restaurant to being the dietary manager at the Protestant Home. She enjoyed bingo and watching television. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence “LA” Herman; son, Kenneth Cruse; brothers, Joseph, Thomas, Kenneth, Charles and Bud Herriott; sisters, Verna Yater, Luella Fell, and Nellie Sliger. Lois is survived by her sons, Steven Cruse (Trudy) of Newburgh, IN, Larry Cruse (Becky) of Kankakee, IL and Gordon Cruse (Cheryl) of Hermitage, TN; twin-sister, Lola Moyars of Fowler, IN and sister, Juanita Bisher of Louisville, KY; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Alexander East Chapel. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the Protestant Home for their many years of loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
