

Lois Arlene (Archer) Keerl, 82, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Columbia Healthcare Center. She was born June 28, 1933, in Ottumwa, IA to the late Robert and Naomi (Bowden) Archer.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, where she had been secretary and was very active in the choir. She was a retired registered nurse. She was very involved with Girl Scouts for over 40 years. She had her own troop and worked as a nurse at their summer camps. She volunteered once a week as a Pink Lady at ST. Mary’s Medical Center, was involved with Operation City Beautiful, and had been president of her neighborhood association for many years. She was also involved with United Caring Shelter and the YMCA Shelter for Women and Children. Lois touched many lives and is an inspiration to many people. She was a remarkable grandmother; her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Katherine Keerl; sons, Robbie and Darin Keerl; and many brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Keerl; daughter, Linda Lord; sons, Rick (Michelle) and Kevin Keerl; and grandchildren, Dalton and Colton Lord, Haley Wester, Dylan, Derek, and Kayla Keerl.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kimron Reising and Rev. John Schroeder, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
