Lucille E. Garland

She attended the Methodist Temple for over 50 years and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Honored Ladies of Shrine.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edgar A. Garland; brothers, Torrence “Pete” Eckerty and Porter Eckerty, Jr.; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jane (Morgan) McIlwain, of Lexington, KY; brother, Reese Eckerty, of Jeffersonville, IN; nieces, Mary Ann (Bill) Tomlinson, of Scottsdale, AZ, Nancy Jane (David) Carter, of The Villages, FL; nephews, David (Charlotte) Eckerty, of Jeffersonville, IN, Doug (Rhonda) Eckerty, of Yorktown, IN, and Jim Eckerty, of New Castle, IN; and special friends, Martha and Dan Oates.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Steve Beutler, with burial in The Birdseye Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
