Lynda Lee Bowles of Eureka, Missouri passed into the arms of Jesus on September 19, 2024 at the age of 84. She was born on February 5, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Mary Hazel (Pate) and Robert Ray Rinehart. She grew up as the fourth of five children and had a large, extended family.
Lynda graduated from North High School in Evansville in 1958. She married and moved to Ellisville, Missouri in 1962 where her three children were born. She decided to pursue further education and graduated from Missouri Baptist Nursing School in 1972. She spent her entire career at Missouri Baptist Medical Center and retired in 2001. She served in many roles there, but her favorite was providing post-natal care to moms and babies.
Lynda was a follower of Christ and her faith was very important to her. She read her Bible daily, enjoyed listening to gospel music (especially Bill and Gloria Gaither) and was a constant source of prayer for her family and friends. She was actively involved with Central Baptist Church in Eureka and especially loved her small group.
For fifteen years Lynda lived with her daughter and son-in-law, helping them raise their five children. She had seven grandchildren in total and adored them all. And she especially enjoyed having her two great-grandchildren visit her over the last few years. She had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile. She was beloved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Holder (Bit); brother, Bill Rinehart (Ruth); and sister, Patricia Baker (Don).
She is survived by her sister Mary Sterne (Ted); her children Brett Bowles (Rosy), Kim Frauenhoffer (John), Dirk Bowles (Amanda); her seven grandchildren; Brynne Frauenhoffer (Erin), Christian Frauenhoffer (Jess), Carolyn Overton (PJ), Grace Paraino (Henry), Sam Frauenhoffer, Nori Bowles and Miles Bowles and great grandchildren, Eloise and Charlotte Overton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Garden View Care Center-Valley Park for the incredible care and compassion they provided Lynda over the last four years. They would also like to thank Pathways Hospice for the care provided in the last two months.
The family will be having a small, private service in Evansville, Indiana.
