Marcia Peters

Marcia MacKay Peters, age 67, died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on January 13, 2022. She was born in Hamilton, Montana on January 30, 1954 and grew up mostly in New Orleans and later Oklahoma City. Marcia received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 1978. She worked as a surgical nurse for years and later as a school nurse at Hebron in Evansville. Her true life’s work was raising her three children, of whom she was immensely proud. Marcia is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Dr. Michael Peters; and their three children, Dr. Lindsey Mossler and her husband, David, Dr. Whitney Peters and her husband, Chris Baca, and Dr. Alexander Peters, and his fiancée Jen Choe. She was extremely proud to have raised three physicians. She was beloved Mimi to her two beautiful grandchildren, Arno and Wallis Mossler, whom she absolutely adored. She had inimitable style and an eye for design. She loved to travel and in her empty-nest years became a self-taught financial analyst and antique fine jewelry expert. She loved animals—especially Irish Wolfhounds. She raised two Irish Wolfhounds over the years, and these giant animals loved and protected her with unparalleled devotion. Those who knew Marcia well loved her very much and her passing leaves an unfillable void in all our lives. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Alexander North Chapel from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the National Irish Wolfhound Association.
