

Margaret (Branham) McFarron, 94, of Newburgh, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Newburgh Health Care Center. She was born July 23, 1919, in Kentucky. Margaret was the fourth of five children born to Haze and Gertrude (Jackson) Branham.
She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School. After her husband, Guy, passed away in 1961, she worked as a licensed beautician, as well as for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, retiring in 1981. Margaret was the matriarch of the family. She always stated how proud she was of her family and was always there to support and encourage her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and play piano. She was a life-long member of Forest Hills Wesleyan Church and taught Sunday school.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Guy “Buck” McFarron; son, Donald Leon McFarron; daughter, Peggy (McFarron) Burnett; parents, Haze and Gertrude (Jackson) Branham; sisters, Georgia Martin and Velma Schmidt; and brother, Frank Branham.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Jo) McFarron of Naperville, IL; sister, Aldine Johnson of Florida; grandchildren, Tammie (Greg) Tuley and Terrie Burnett, her caregiver, both of Evansville, Tommy (Kim) Burnett of Chandler, Michael McFarron of Japan, Leslie McFarron of Oak Creek, WI and Daniel McFarron of Byron, IL; great-grandchildren, Christopher Tuley of Lawndale, CA, Sarah Tuley of Evansville, Melissa Burnett of Chandler and Matthew Burnett of Newburgh; two great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Tom Burnett of Newburgh.
Services were 11:00 AM Friday, September 20, 2013, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Stoelting, with burial in Tupman Cemetery. Friends visited Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
