Margaret L. Quirey

She was a lifetime member of Heritage Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She graduated from Reitz High School. She loved feeding the birds, especially Cardinals, and was an avid sports fan. Margaret enjoyed family get-togethers, especially Fourth of July where she helped make homemade ice cream.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 66 years and love of her life, Glenn Quirey; sons, Michael (Sandi) of Elkhart, IN, Alan (Sharon) of Evansville and Jeff (Tammy) Quirey of Boonville; daughter, Gail (Ron) Huber of Evansville; grandchildren, Michelle Huss, Susan Stewart, Sara Toner, Michael-Jon Quirey, Seth Quirey, Terah Huber, Holly Huber, Amy McCurdy, Hannah Quirey, Andrew Scott, Ange Boyle, Joshua Quirey and Tiffany Quirey; 14 great-grandchildren; and caregiver, Yolanda Sears.

Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Heritage Baptist Church, 1900 South Lodge Avenue, officiated by Rev. Maurice Melton and Margaret’s son, Michael Quirey, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
