Smith King Care Center in Henderson, Kentucky. She was born December 15, 1915, in Owensville, Indiana.
Marie was a homemaker. She loved the vibrancy of young people and enjoyed working with them.
She enjoyed camping and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Upchurch; sister, Helen Atkins; and brother, Arthur Beck.
Marie is survived by her son, Kim Upchurch (Jannett) of Philadelphia, TN; grandchildren, Tammy Gunnerson, Lisa Halsan, and John Upchurch; great grandchildren, Tess and Evan Upchurch; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, with entombment to follow. Friends may visit Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the cemetery.
