

Marion retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 25 years of service. He then went to work another 12 years at Burger King. Marion enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and served on the church planting team.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 2 sisters and their spouses.
Marion is survived by his wife of 74 years, Anna “Ruthie” Hughes; daughters, DeAnna Yonts (Richard), and Charlotte Hill (Steven); son, Mark Hughes; grandchildren, John Downey (Melissa), Brad Downey (Samantha), Mitchell Hughes (Morgan), Michael Hughes; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lee Stubblefield (Harold), and Mary Lou Gorham; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN officiated by Rev. Bobby Pell followed by burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Beginning Tuesday at 1:45 p.m., the funeral service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
