Marvin loved music from a young age. He played the bassoon, drums, and served as the drum major for the Central High School marching band. His love for music was present throughout his life and he enjoyed live performances whenever possible. His favorite genre was always jazz.
Marvin began his career at Citizens Bank in high school and retired from CNB/Fifth Third in 2000 after 49 ½ years of service, where he was loved and respected by everyone he met and worked with. He also provided his time and mentorship to many local civic organizations. He especially loved the time he spent as President of the Highland Elementary School Boys Baseball league.
Marvin was an avid boater throughout his life, providing many happy hours on both the Ohio River and Lake Barkley/Kentucky Lake for his family and friends.
Marvin was a member of St. Boniface Episcopal Church on Siesta Key, Florida.
Nothing was more important to Marvin than his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jan (Patterson) Huff of Sarasota: children, Marty (Carl Harris) of Newburgh, Marcia of Lexington, KY, Marc (Angela) of Evansville, and his devoted stepdaughter Jett (Patterson) Bond of Sarasota. Marvin loved nothing more than being surrounded by his grandchildren; Jacquelyn Dassell (David), Madeline Scott (Tyler), Katie Rowden (Jon), Max Huff, Eli Huff, Matthew Bond (Nicole Wheeler) and Jake Bond (Jenny Lee). Marvin felt blessed by his 6 great-grandchildren: Hayes, Millie & Leo Dassell; Quinn, Hughes & Blair Scott.
