Mary went to Bosse High School and North High School. She enjoyed cooking and bartending at several local establishments in Evansville, sewing, crocheting, playing pool, doing color by number pictures, hosting and playing bingo in her retirement community, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and fiancé of six years, Alan Joseph; two daughters, Sherrie Merimee (Michael Claycomb) of Owensboro, KY and Deena Schuff (Jason Buchanan) of Mt. Vernon, IN; sister, LaDean White; brothers, Mike Combs, Steve Combs, Bill Combs, Gray Combs, and Daniel Baughn; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mary was proceeded in death by her late husband of 23 years, Jack Vern Sherman; mom and dad, Patsy and Johnny Baughn; her daddy, John C. Combs; sister, Theresa (Combs) Cosby; brothers, Samual C. Combs, and Terri Ray Baughn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
