Mary K Boyle

She was raised on a farm in Posey County and graduated from Cynthiana H.S. in 1946. Mary attended Lockyear Business College before taking her first job with Hoosier Cardinal.

Mary was introduced to Jim from Poseyville at a church social and that led to over 60 years of marriage. They raised three sons: Mike, Jeff, Tim and suffered the lost of a daughter Becky to childhood illness. During those 60 years Mary and Jim traveled to all of the states except 4 and to Canada and Mexico. They loved going to see family and being with friends.

Mary loved her Lord, her church and her Encourager’s Classmates. She supported First Christian Mission trips, made candy for the Fall Festival and enjoyed Bible study. Mary also enjoyed Highland Baseball Moms luncheons at the Kennel Club. She enjoyed the monthly Sears Retiree lunches and her Birthday club with a group of Sears ladies gave her glee!

Mom taught her sons the value of giving effort at work and often she worked more than one job at a time. She set a tremendous example for them while winning many awards and honors during her 25 year leadership career at Sears!

She was preceded in death by her parents Narvel and Vada and siblings: Robert, Ruth, James, Betty, and Richard. Her husband, Jim, daughter, Becky, and son, Jeff also preceded her in death.

Surviving Mary are sons; Mike and wife Sherdene of Newburgh, IN and Tim of Jacksonville, FL. Also surviving is Jeff’s wife Ginny of Boise, ID; grandchildren Tami (Jay) of Boise, ID, Alicia of Steubenville, OH, and Kevin (Lisa) of Nolensville, TN. Additionally Mary had the pleasure of being “Grandma faraway” to great grandkids Lucie and Leo of Boise, ID.

Visitation with the family will be May 19, 2022, 2-3:30 PM and a Celebration Service will follow at 4 PM. The service will be at Alexander Funeral Home-North Chapel. Dinner will be served at First Christian Church, located at 2845 Beaumont Dr. Evansville, IN, following the service. A private burial will be in Poseyville later. In Lieu of Flowers the family would be thankful if you would make donations in Mary Boyle’s name to one of the following: Indiana State Library Foundation (Talking Books), 140 N. Senate Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46204; American Red Cross, 29 S Stockwell Rd, Evansville, IN 47714; or to the Mission Trips Fund at First Christian Church.
