

She devoted her life to the Chandler Dance Studio. After retiring from the studio, she worked for Experience Works Temporary Agency. She played volleyball for 25 years in a “ladies league” at Delaware School. Mary loved to square dance, line dance and was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying baseball and basketball.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Aubrey W. Chandler; sister, Christine Dockery; brother, James Hawkins; and sister, Ruth Yoder.
She is survived by her son, Don Chandler (Florence) of Washington, IN; son, Gary Chandler (Millie) of Frostproof, FL; daughter, Sharon Smith (Paul) of Canton, GA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rae Schroeder of Evansville; brother, William “Bill” Hawkins of Madisonville, KY; sisters, Effie Baldwin of Madisonville, KY and Betty Esche of Newburgh; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Carlos Haskins with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
