Mary M. Pountain

She was born February 7, 1941. Mary attended St. Theresa Grade School, Mater Dei High School and attended Breshia College for 2 years. She taught at Holy Spirit School and St. Bernards in Rockport. She also was a cook and waitress at many restaurants. Mary was a Girl Scout Cookie Chairman for Central Vanderburgh Unit for many years and also helped with many events. She was living at Majestic Healthcare in Newburgh.

She is survived by son, Brian Allen Pountain (girlfriend, Eva Myron); son, Jason Pountain (Penny); sister, Betty Spalding; brother, Richard Spalding, of Mill Shoals, IL; grandchildren, Drew Pountain of Grayville, IL, Isaiah Pountain of Albion, IL, Jordon Clark of Evansville, and Danika Kebortz of Evansville; great granddaughter, Parker Pountain of Grayville, IL; brother-in-law, Ric Pountain of Port Orange, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Judy Lemery; sister-in-law, Cathy Tracey of South Glens Falls, NY.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Elizabeth Spalding; husband, Stanley Pountain; brother, Larry Spalding; mother-in-law, Pauline Fish, and brother-in-law, Phillip Pountain.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road. A Funeral Service will be 11:00, Friday, December 16, 2022 at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Rev. Dan Ashton.
