

She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where she served as a children’s Sunday School teacher for many years, a prayer partner for several missionaries, and member of Evergreen Missionary Society. For many years she served as a volunteer at Welborn Hospital. Her children, grandchildren and their spouses were a great joy in her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Freda Simpson, Ella Mae Engelhardt, Alma Heacock and Liz Owens; brother, James Owens; and son-in-law, Bill Deller.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Deller of Evansville; sons, Ben (Patty) and John (Gladys) Sloan of Newburgh; grandchildren, Tim (Cathy) Deller of Evansville, Cheryl (Larry) Shoptaw of Newburgh, Laura (Phil) Allen of New York, Greg (Le’Ann) Sloan of Evansville, Angela (Brian) Cook of Evansville, Renee (Kevin) Heil of Newburgh and Pastor Rodney (Brandy) Sloan of Boonville; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor John Swain, Chaplain Jerry Wirth and Pastor Rodney Sloan, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family is grateful to the Parkview Care Center staff for the loving care Mary received while she was a resident there.
