Mary Elizabeth Sorrels, 89, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was born on August 20, 1933 in Logansport, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Ruth (Davis) Render.
She worked in the cafeteria at Bosse High School for over 30 years, where the students nicknamed her “Fries Mary” because she made the best fries. Mary loved her family and her cats.
Mary is survived by her sons, Lewis Sweeney (Maria) and Troy Sweeney (Karen); 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
