She was active in Girl Scouts of American and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to read. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and Abundant Grace Fellowship Church, both in Madisonville, KY.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Welborn; and stepson, Larry Welborn.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Wade and wife, Shana of Madisonville, KY; daughter, Christine Layne; grandchildren, Rachel Martin and husband, Jeremy, Heather Wade and husband, Jerry, Tiffany Thompson, Zachary Thompson; caregivers, Shawn and Elaine Vanlue; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Pfender and husband, John, and Linda Lipking; and brothers, Ted, Kenny and Greg Lipking.
Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
