Michael Lee Blankenship, Jr.

Michael Lee Blankenship Jr., 31, of Evansville, IN, lost his life unexpectedly on Saturday, October 22, 2023. Michael was born in Evansville, IN, to Rose Sweeney (Smith) and Michael Blankenship Sr. He was a Reitz High School graduate, class of 2011. Michael had a passion for skateboarding, bike riding, playing guitar, enjoying nature, and spending time with loved ones. He was an animal lover, outgoing, adventurous, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Curtis Smith Sr and grandmothers, Lorraine Smith and Mary Jo Clardy. He is survived by his children, Halynn Jo, Molly Ann, and Kaia Leigh Blankenship; parents, Rose Sweeney (Jerry), and Michael Blankenship Sr.; sisters, Megan Kidwell, and Kristen Fenwick, and three additional siblings; nieces, Myah Miller, Lily Head, and Iris Lukac; nephew, Matthew Smith; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; best friend, Levi Kelley, and his beloved dog, "BB" Sabbath. He was loved by many, and will be missed greatly. Michael’s celebration of life will he held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Alexander West Funeral Home, 2100 W.
