IN THE CARE OF
Alexander Funeral Home-East Chapel
Michael David Chapman, 68, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1952 to Harold and Royalene Chapman.
Mike was employed with Mead Johnson/Bristol Myers for 33 years. After retirement, he worked for Trinity United Methodist Church for 2 years. He had many passions in life but his greatest was the love he had for his family. Mike enjoyed watching his children and later his grandchildren participating in their various activities. He and Tana, his wife and high school sweetheart of 51 years, loved to travel. Many of their trips started with Mike waking up, looking over at Tana, and saying out loud “Road Trip” and off they went with no predetermined destination in mind. They traveled the country together. He enjoyed building custom homes for his family and remodeling homes that some wouldn’t consider worth their time. Mike could turn them from an eye sore into someone’s treasure. He loved the Aces, Go Aces! His family will forever cherish the unconditional love he had for his wife and family, his quirky sense of humor, his obsession with his bulldogs, and his love for Polar Pops.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Harold and Royalene and his brother, Rick Chapman.
Mike is survived by his wife, Tana; children, Kara Alexander (Jon), Nick Chapman (Deanna), Alisa Chapman (Jason Hausmann), and Jody Chapman (Jessie); grandchildren, Logan Mayes, Isaac Alexander, Lillian Chapman, Samuel Chapman, Ava Alexander, Cavin Chapman, Salima Chapman, and Alayna Cole; niece, Holly Chapman; nephews, Chris and Shawn Chapman; mother, Wanda Chapman; the Wentzel Family; many great-nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friends, Stan Wilmes (Candy) and Eric McMichael (Linda).
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel. Entombment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Monday, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
