

Mourlyn, business woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed on January 7, 2026.
Mourlyn was born June 5, 1931 to Herman C. and Alti I. Ennis in Howell, Indiana. She married James Simpson Jr. May 20, 1949. Mourlyn and Jim had two sons Steven and Kenneth. They started a business together, Simpson Novelties. The business was established on Fulton Avenue and progressed to Main Street, Evansville IN. The business prospered and so did the Simpson Family. They built a beautiful home together in St Joe, IN. Mourlyn and Jim eventually sold the business and house and retired to Ormond by the Sea, FL in 1981. Mourlyn fulfilled her lifelong dream of traveling to all National Parks and all 50 states with her husband Jim. Together they traveled North America in a motorhome and some amazing adventures.
Jim passed August 20, 2004. Mourlyn later married William Rapp. They enjoyed their yard, flowers, cats and were active members of the Hollyhill Church of Christ. Mourlyn and Bill moved back to Indiana to be closer to family in April, 2019. There they attended Oak Hill Church of Christ, enjoyed eating out and their beloved cat Patches, Bill passed in 2025.
Mourlyn is survived by her two sons, Steve and Kenneth, sister Marilee Harper, brother Mike Thomas, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mourlyn was a dynamic force of nature. If you weren't going to help, get the hell out of the way.
