Nellie M. Adair

She graduated from F.J. Reitz High School. Nellie retired from T.J. Maxx in 2005 after over 25 years. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and was active in Golden Fellowship. Nellie was also a member of Poplar Grove Neighborhood Watch. She loved music, art, and working with her flowers and roses. Nellie dearly loved her family, friends, and the Lord. She will be missed by her church family and many friends.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Adair; son, Scott E. Adair; parents; sister, Ruth Scott; and brothers, George White, J. Truman White, and Kenneth White.

She is survived by her sister, Sue Worthington; brother, David White; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., officiated by Pastor Cole Hughes. Burial will follow in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
