

She graduated from Central High School in 1949 and was a member of Happy Hearts Home Ec Club and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1114. She enjoyed camping, fishing, quilting, traveling, playing cards, collecting light houses and geese, and going to softball games.
Nellie was preceded in death by her son, Darryl; sisters, Kathryn (Henry) Jesop, Velma (Paul) Cannon and Thelma Bryant; brother, James (Ruth) Griffin; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Glynn Gauger; sons, Gene (Patty), Roger (Kathy) and Alan (Angie); daughter, Karen (Stephen) Maurer; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Barbara Gaisser, with burial in Tupman Cemetery. Friends visited Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bethel Manor Ivy Unit as well as Sara, Tom and Tara with Heritage Hospice, for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Heritage Hospice.
