

Nima Dean (McKeehan) Trautvetter, 87, went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2023 while in the care of Bethel Manor. She was surrounded by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren during the days that lead to her passing.
Nima was born in Waverly, KY on July 25, 1936 to Morton and Amile (Tapp) McKeehan.
Nima met her husband, David in Evansville, and they married in 1965. She worked at Pine Haven Nursing Home for over 15 years. She also enjoyed babysitting and caring for family members. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything.
Nima was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, David; parents, Morton and Amile; and brother, Ricky.
Nima is survived by her daughters, Tina (Todd) Phillips of Evansville, IN and Tracey (Jon) David of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jake (Hayley) David, Jes (Corie) David, Noah Phillips, and Grace Phillips; great-grandson, Jaxton David and foster great-granddaughter that Nima called “Baby Doll”; sister, Tena (Charlie) Wilder; sister-in-law, Ann Boeke; brother-in-law, Walter (Janet) Trautvetter; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the many family members, friends, and neighbors that visited Nima during her time at Bethel that inspired the staff to give her the name “Famous Nima”. They would especially like to thank several of the staff members at Bethel Manor that provided special care to her during her final days.
A Celebration of Nima’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home – West Chapel at 2100 W. Illinois, St., Evansville, IN 47712. Entombment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
