She was a Canyoneer for the San Diego Natural History Museum and a former Sierra Club Member. She was a Docent Emeritus for Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden and loved the Zoo.
Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Henness; son, Matthew Thomas Henness; parents George Braa, Lenora Wilson and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Lea Vollmer (Mike); grandsons, Chris Vollmer and Matthew Henness Jr.; two great grandsons.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel officiated by Reverend Todd Gile. Friends may visit 10:00 a.m. until service time at the cemetery chapel.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.
