Norma worked for the Marion County Sherriff’s Department for 11 years. She was an owner of First Avenue Inn and a waitress at Gary’s Innfield. She enjoyed music, camping, fishing, and collecting.
Norma is survived by her companion of 28 years, Bill Emerson of Hatfield; daughter, Dora Marie Mears (Bud) of Evansville; step-daughters, Jennifer Gross of Holland, IN and Patricia Emerson; step-sons, Greg Gross of Evansville and Jonathan Emerson of Richland; brother, David Wayne Jones of Ohio; grandchildren, Crystal Litllepage and Angela Hayes; niece, Laura Dineen; 12 step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harper; sisters, Edna McKasson and Virginia Mae Emerson; brother, Jimmy Jones; and step-son, Jody Emerson.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 5, 2013 at Alexander North Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
